Biography

Lecturer Serkan Gür is an economist and academic distinguished by his interdisciplinary approach bridging economics, communication, and logistics. He completed his undergraduate studies in Business Administration at Anadolu University in 2010 and earned his master’s degree in Economics from the Institute of Social Sciences at Giresun University in 2015. His master’s thesis, titled “Communication Economics”, is recognized as the first scientific study in Türkiye to comprehensively examine the economic dimensions of the communication sector, marking a significant contribution to the literature on the Information Economy.

Lecturer Gür began his academic career at the Giresun University Tirebolu Faculty of Communication (2016–2019), where he taught foundational courses such as Micro-Macroeconomics, Media Management, and Research Methods. As of 2024, he serves as a faculty member in the Department of Transportation Services at Giresun University Tirebolu Mehmet Bayrak Vocational School. In the same year, he was appointed as the Head of the Transportation Services Department, a position he currently holds. Lecturer Gür continues to teach courses on Macroeconomics, Business Management, and Monetary Logistics. His primary research interests include Macroeconomic PoliciesCapital MarketsFinancial Management, and Information Economics.

Lecturer Gür joins MAREINS as a domain expert focusing on the intersection of Information Economy and Logistics Systems. Leveraging his pioneering work in Communication Economics, he contributes to the consortium by analyzing the economic viability and market dynamics of emerging information systems. Additionally, utilizing his expertise in Transportation Services, Lecturer Gür plays a key role in research projects related to Supply Chain Management and Logistics Informatics, ensuring that the group’s technical solutions are grounded in sound economic principles and operational efficiency.
