Biography

Asst. Prof. Dr. Murat Başaran is a highly competent scientist who combines his deep theoretical knowledge in management and organization with practical analyses at the intersection of organizational behavior and finance. Currently continuing his academic career in the Department of Finance, Banking, and Insurance at Giresun University and serving as the Head of the Management and Organization Department, Dr. Başaran’s primary research focuses on dynamics that directly impact corporate efficiency, such as organizational justice, cynicism, citizenship behavior, and job satisfaction.

Beginning his academic journey in the Department of Public Administration at Akdeniz University (BA, 2001), Dr. Başaran completed his Master’s degree in Business Administration at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University (2013). He successfully concluded his doctoral studies in Management and Organization at Karadeniz Technical University, earning his PhD in 2025. Blending his extensive academic and administrative experience gained at Giresun University since 2008 with the contemporary issues of the technology and finance worlds, Dr. Başaran has made valuable contributions to the international literature, particularly with his research on the impact of COVID-19 on BIST technology companies. His book, “The Relationship Between Organizational Justice, Cynicism, Citizenship Behavior, and Job Satisfaction in the Health Sector”, published in 2025, serves as a fundamental reference in the field.

Bringing his strong expertise in organizational behavior and management dynamics within the health sector to the MAREINS (Management Research in Emerging Information Systems) research group, Dr. Başaran strategically contributes to multidisciplinary projects examining the managerial and institutional reflections of information systems, adding immense value to the group’s philosophy of collective production.
